got the zuk in the garage for the winter and will at times over the winter begin tearing down the head and checking out the cylinders. So I will post photos, updates here.

Well I got the exhaust manifold off and timing belt cover. Noticed when I took the timing belt cover off that either the oil pump seal is leaking, or the front crank seal. Either way both will get replaced as Im kinda doing a mini rebuild depending on what I find once I get the head removed.

I highly recomend addressing the cranck where the seal is, make sure it is clean and smooth. If you could find one a speedy sleave works well for getting rid of that seal groove.

Made some progress last night,thanks to some blue moon beer for keeping me comfy.



Valves, right one is 1/4 inch out of its seat.


Cylinder walls look good but will need a hone job and I will measure to see where they are at.

I got the pistons out and the cylinder walls seem to be pretty round getting measurements of 2.915 now I just need to decide what size pistons to get.

Was pretty easy if it wasnt lifted I could have just lifted up the block myself. Damn light but with a bad, leg I decided I didnt need a bad back to go with it. lol (I also made my electronic hoist mobile!)

Measured my Piston's got 74mm with 2.915 cylinder width. so it looks like I need 20 thousands over rings unless I get better pistons.

Oven cleaner works but is nasty on the lungs. I would just use gunk out.
