ok, i got lucky and snagged a used samurai tranny off craigslist for 20 bucks!
i want to rebuild it and put it in the zuki and want to get away with it for as cheap as possible.
Bearing puller: anybody know how long it needs to be to grab the gears and/or bearings off the shaft? I looked at harbor freight but the jaw types were the only affordables and didnt look very long, wide ones, but not long.
Press: i sure as hell cant buy a press right now. Ive heard of using different sized pipes and rubber malleting them on. Has anybody done this?

Ive never done a trans but for the harbor freight bearing pullers ive used threaded rod inplace of what they give you for a longer reach like on an axle. _________________ Web wheeling for now.

instead of using a press, use a bearing/seal installer they are way cheaper
that or if you can get the oldbearing one out in one peice use the old outer race. hammer on the old outer race, while it is stacked on the new bearing then you don't beat up the new one
